Enjoy a Day at Blackpool Sands

There are several Devon holiday cottages and Torquay holiday cottages located near the beach. If you are planning a holiday in Torquay, you should book one of the Torquay holiday cottages or the Devon holiday cottages. The Devon holiday cottages and the Torquay holiday cottages are luxurious, self-catering accommodation units that are perfect for small and large families planning a holiday in Devon. There are several fine beaches you can visit while on holiday here; however, one of the beaches you should not miss is Blackpool Sands.

Blackpool Sands

Blackpool Sands is situated in the South of Devon and is one of the most beautiful beaches. The beach is privately managed shingle beach with beautiful blue water that gives it a Mediterranean look. Some of the highlights of this beach are clean water to swim in (checked by the Environment Authorities), beach cleaned (daily), beach cafe, shop, toilets, disabled facilities, refreshing towels, lifeguards and much more. This is definitely one of the beaches you should come to while staying at the Devon or the Torquay cottages. Between March and November dogs are not permitted on the beach.

Watersports at Blackpool Sands

Windsurfing - If you like windsurfing, you will enjoy yourself at Blackpool Sands. Windsurfing is one of the popular watersports at this beach. If you have never tried windsurfing, this could be your chance to get started. Windsurfing is possible through Lushwind which is AALA and RYA approved. You can have a great time of windsurfing when you visit this beach.

Kayaking - Another way to enjoy your day at Blackpool Sands is to try kayaking. Kayaking is a great way to explore the beach and get some exercise at the same time. You can choose either the single kayaks or the double kayaks or even the triple kayaks. Kayaks can be rented at the beach for a period of one hour. You will be given a good quality kayak and safety gear so that you can enjoy your day kayaking.

Paddle Boards - Paddle Boarding is a new activity that has become very popular in a short time. You will have to stand on a board and paddle - sounds easy? Not so, paddle boarding is not as easy as it sounds. You will be given a board and a long paddle. You will have to stand straight and paddle over the water and keep your balance at the same time so that you do not fall down in the water. After a couple of tries you will get the hang of it and you will begin to enjoy this activity.

Blackpool Sands is perfect place to enjoy a family picnic while staying at one of the Devon or the Torquay holiday cottages. This is one beach you should not forget to include in your itinerary.
